Ultium Cells, the GM and LG Energy Solution joint venture, will invest $1 billion by 2030 to convert and expand its Spring Hill plant for LMR prismatic cells, adding 500 jobs to its current workforce of 1,200. Modifications begin later in 2026, with completion in 2028.
